Mayor Lloyd Winnecke was surveying the damage around Evansville earlier today.

Mayor winnecke spent Saturday looking at the damage at city properties including Garvin Park, Helfrich Golf Course, and Fendrich Golf Course. 55 trees were knocked down or damaged at Fendrich, with 30 to 40 at Helfrich.

Winnecke met with the National Weather Service Storm assessment team. They're estimating winds reached 120 miles per hour.

"Based on the level of damage there," said Mayor Winnecke, "it will take a couple of days if not a couple of weeks to clear all the debris. We've seen amazing devastation in some places."

Both Helfrich and Fendrich Golf Courses were closed today, but ground keepers hope they'll be back in business Sunday.

No storm related injuries or deaths have been reported.
