Dylan Meyer, former Central Bear, broke the Evansville City Tournament record in a seven stroke victory.
Former Central Bear, and future Illini, Dylan Meyer has thought about winning the Evansville City Tournament for quite a while. Sunday that dream came true. Meyer entered Sunday's final round with a one shot advantage over IU graduate David Mills. It didn't take long to figure out that he was dialed in. By the time Meyer reached the par three 16th at Evansville Country Club, he was sitting at -19. Seven shots ahead of Mills.
"My mindset was right today," said Meyer. "I knew I had them on the ropes all day because their mental game wasn't going to be as strong as mine."
Meyer's score of 265 was two shots lower than Kevin Wassmer's previous record of -17 set in the early 2000s.
