The Kentucky Public Service Agreement says "yes" to an agreement supports say will keep 500 jobs in the Tri-State. The PSC has agreed to allow Century Aluminum to purchase electricity on the open market for its Sebree smelter.

Century previously purchased power from Big Rivers, but company officials say the price was too high, and that if it was not allowed to purchase power on the open market, it would close the plant and put 500 people out of a job.

The deal is similar to an agreement the PSC approved for Century's plant in Hancock County.
