New Orleans Ex-Mayor Gets 10 Years for Corruption

Prosecutor says former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin "sold his office over and over and over again." He was sentenced to 10 years.
Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison.
This is video of him arriving to court Wednesday morning.
Prosecutors argued Nagin was at the center of a kickback scheme in which he received checks, cash, wire transfers, personal services, and free travel from businessmen seeking contracts and favorable treatment from the city before and after Hurricane Katrina.
The State Prosecutor said Mayor Nagin "sold his office over and over and over again. And that the damage Ray Nagin inflicted upon New Orleans incalculable."
A January 2013 indictment detailed more than $200,000 dollars in bribes to the Mayor.
