Newburgh Hosts Cancer Awareness Program

Several organizations donated their time and efforts to spread information about cancer and raise money for the cause.
Newburgh, Ind. - The 13th Annual Men's Health and Prostate Cancer Awareness Program is underway in Newburgh. Several organizations donated their time and efforts to spread information about the deadly illness and raise money for the cause . The event filled the Newburgh riverfront with activities and food ; including a competitive BBQ contest to benefit the Gilda's Club of Evansville.
Board member, Penne Gambrall says the event unites people suffering cancer.

"It amazes me every time we do an event how many of the same people we meet because unfortunately cancer affects all of us whether you have had it, you have had it within your family, network of friends. It's a great opportunity for us to come together, raise awareness and raise money for cancer organizations. "

The Gilda's Club  of Evansville offers psychological support to cancer patients and their families.
