North First Avenue Looking More Attractive

Dozens of volunteers made cleaning up Evansville their first priority Saturday morning.

Nearly forty people picked up trash along North First Street as part of the Keep Evansville Beautiful campaign.

Organizers say more than 25 bags of trash were filled during the two hour trash pick up.
Since the campaign started a few years ago, they say it's encouraged residents to keep their own neighborhoods clean.

"What we've found out, a number of groups, organizations, neighborhoods, and so forth, even individuals will come forward to keep Evansville beautiful, and will actually clean up their own areas on their own, often times above and beyond the Evansville efforts," said Mike McGarrah.

The next clean up will be in the Wesselman Park area on August 2nd.
