Officials say one person is dead following a morning wreck on the Pennyrile Parkway in Webster County. The accident happened around 7 a.m close to the Dixon exit.

Kentucky State Police say 22 year old Cody Allen of Madisonville was southbound when he lost control and his SUV was flipping over as it crossed into northbound traffic. It stopped in a ditch. Troopers report he and one of his passengers, 22 year old Thomas Hawkins of Hanson, were thrown out. Neither of them were wearing seatbelts. KSP says Allen was pronounced dead at Madisonville's hospital.

A third passenger, 20 year old Amber Harrison of Henderson, was buckled up.  She and Hawkins were flown to St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville for treatment. There's no word on their conditions yet.

Investigators say alcohol is likely a factor. That stretch of road was closed for about two hours.
