Austin Blaize has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.
The sentencing comes days after his request to reverse his murder conviction for the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend's father was denied.

Update:

After deliberating for three and a half hours, the jury proposed life without parole after finding Austin Blaize guilty of murder.
Blaize will be sentenced in late September.

Update:

Breaking News out of Gibson County. A jury finds Austin Blaize guilty of murder.
Prosecutors say he killed his ex-girlfriend's father in January of 2013.
The jury is now deliberating if they will recommend Blaize be sentenced to life in prison. Eyewitness News will continue to follow this story and bring you updates as they are available.

Opening arguments are underway in Gibson County in the trial of a man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend's father. 
Austin Blaize is accused of killing Terry Monier in fort branch.
Blaize turned down a plea agreement in the case last month.
According to police, Blaize went to the Monier home in January of 2013 to harm his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend but say he fired 2 shots, one of which killed Monier, his ex-girlfriend's father.
Prosecutors say they will seek life in prison if Blaize is convicted.

Jury selection is underway in the murder trial of Austin Blaize.
Austin Blaize turned down a plea agreement in the case last month.
That agreement would have sent him to prison for 65 years.
Blaize is accused in the shooting death of Terry Monier in Fort Branch.
According to police, Blaize went to the Monier home in January of 2013 to harm his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend.
Authorities say he fired 2 shots, one of which killed Monier, his ex-girlfriend's father.
Prosecutors say they will seek life in prison if Blaize is convicted.
