The American Red Cross continues its multi-state call to action, and today another Tri-State volunteer hits the road to help.

Todd Edgell works with the Red Cross in Owensboro. For the next two weeks or longer, he will be in Tupelo, Mississippi to working as a case worker for those affected by last week's deadly tornado outbreak.

Edgell decided to volunteer with the Red Cross a few years ago. He says after being laid off at the height of the recession, he went looking for an internship. But instead of finding a job, he says he fell in love.

"When you get to go out and help people everyday on an everyday basis with fire calls or a disaster like this," said Edgell, it just kind of gets in your blood. If you got the heart, you're willing to go out and help no matter what the job might entail. You really feel for the people and you want to do your best for them."

And if you would like to help the Red Cross, you can visit www.redcross.org. You can also call 1-800-RED CROSS or text "REDCROSS" to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
