After spending the past 5 years as a Taliban prisoner, Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl is now back in the US.
He departed Germany and arrived at a military hospital in Texas early Friday morning to begin the next phase of his rehab.
A spokesperson said everyone at the hospital was on standby mode for him.
He was released from Taliban custody on May 31st in exchange for 5 Taliban prisoners who were being held at Guantanamo Bay.
The Obama Administration has faced harsh criticism that Bergdahl's release came at too a high price. There have been heated debates. Some have suggested that was a deserter and lives were lost due to searches for him. A family friend and veteran says that Bergdahl isn't to blame for the problems, and suggests blaming politicians and the government for maintaining troops in the wars.
