Everyone in the community was invited to attend and stand in solidarity against such violence on Evansville's south side.
Staff at Memorial Baptist organized a vigil Sunday on the same street corner were Eric Brookins was killed.
Everyone in the community was invited to attend and stand in solidarity against such violence  on the south side. The vigil was attended by one of the last people to see Brookins alive - his roomate.

He was at the scene of the shooting Saturday morning; he told us, "(HE WAS) He was a young kid. He was great. I wish it was me, not him. He was too young. And do I care about retaliation? No. I'm content, the way I live my life. He was too young."

Witnesses described the suspect's vehicle as a red, Ford sedan. If you have any information, call the WE-TIP hotline at 800-78-CRIME.
