Pregnant Woman Recovering After SUV Crash in Spencer County

A pregnant woman was flown to St. Mary's after her SUV falls more than 150 feet into a ditch.
A pregnant woman was flown to St. Mary's Medical Center Tuesday morning after her SUV falls more than 150 feet into a ditch. Indiana State Police say 29 year old Catherine Gress of Velpen was heading on Interstate 64 near Dale in Spencer County. Troopers say Gress hit a patch of ice, lost control of her SUV, hit a guardrail, and rolled over 170 feet into a creek. We're told Gress was able to climb out and wait for emergency crews. The westbound lanes of I-64 were affected near Dale while crews cleared the scene. Officials say Gress has injuries to her right hand and chin, but troopers credit her seatbelt for preventing more serious injury. This stretch of Interstate 64 is now open.
