Princeton Radio Icon Richard Lankford Passes Away

Gibson County loses a broadcasting icon.
Gibson County loses a broadcasting icon. 85-year-old Richard Lankford passed away from cancer Saturday at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.

Since 1953, Lankford has been known by many as "the voice of Princeton Tiger sports." The Lankford family owns WRAY radio station in Princeton.

His nephew, Steve Lankford, tells us Richard will be remembered as a positive "people-person" who lived life to the fullest.

Lankford's showing will be held this Wednesday evening at Hillside Church in Princeton starting at 4 p.m. The public is invited to pay their respects.
