No action was taken tonight by representatives from the State Board of Education or Department of Education.
Tonight's meetings were just chances for parents, school officials, and concerned citizens to present ideas on how the schools can improve.
"Learning can happen here at this school," said Lincoln School teacher Brandon Buck, "because it has with the students that are already here with the people that are already in place."
"My recommendation would be to keep McGary open," said Jen Wiener, "with current leadership to continue to work, educating, nurturing, and loving our kids."
State officials will take the information gathered tonight and report back to the State Board of Education. Officials could decide a state takeover, merging the schools with better performing schools, or even close them.
