Golf is typically a one player sport, but for one Owensboro couple, they've been on the same team for more than half a century. The Hardesties are volunteering as spotters at the United Leasing Championship, Martha at hole eleven, her husband Frank just one hole ahead. They've held many positions at various golf tournaments, "I wanted to do something different this year and so what I do I watch whenever they tee off and wherever the ball lands, if it gets out of bounds I go and flag it, "Martha tells us. She says she loves golf, almost as much as her significant partner saying "he's sweet as he can be we've been married 52 years." Frank calls her perfect. Frank and Martha travel across the country watching and volunteering for different PGA tours, "We went to PGA in Atlanta when Keegan Bradley won it and we've been to the Houston Open this past year it was very neat," he says. This is an example of longevity, beyond the course, -two partners with an appreciation for the game. "We are always connected, he knows what I'm doing, I know what he's doing at almost all times, Martha says. "See I'm on the course and I get out of her way, it works pretty good," Frank jokingly tells us. Putters, pros and passion, for the Hardesties, this is their formula for success. Frank glows when he says, "We've had a wonderful marriage for 52 years that's pretty good, I think I'll keep her now." The Hardesties say they've already bought their tickets for the PGa Tour being held in Louisville.
