The American Red Cross is helping four families effected from the Sugar Mill Creek fire.

It will be meeting with each family over the next few days to figure what they need. They will provide assistance to 11 children nine adults.

The organization says they had over 20 people on stand by during the fire and five people on scene, but they say their efforts were spread thin last night.

"While this is a huge event," said Amy Canterbury, "and one that gets a lot of notoriety, there were two other fires in our region last night. One in Oden, Indiana, and one in Paris, Illinois. So, this is an ongoing effort for the red cross on a daily basis."
