Repairs to Evansville's African American Museum are almost done after a high speed police chase ended with a man crashing inside.
Repairs to Evansville's African American Museum are almost done after a high speed police chase ended with a man crashing inside.

Officers say Sean Whitlock's car crashed at more than 90 miles an hour into one of the pillars at the museum on Lincoln Ave. EPD was investigating a shots fired call before the chase.

Now, the pillar and surrounding areas that were destroyed are in their final stages of repair.

"It feels good to be out here and trying to get this back in the community," said Randy Kuebler of Magnum Construction, "and just make it a piece for people to come and kids to come and see the past and how everything's come together."

Crews hope visitors eventually won't even notice repairs had to be made.
