A project to restore one of Evansville's famous landmarks is officially underway.

Indiana landmarks began restoring the exterior of the Greyhound terminal today.

The station's signature blue panels, pylons, and steel windows will be removed giving people a view of the structure's skeleton for the first time since 1938.

The architectural elements will be restored and reinstalled.

Crews hope to light up the bright red neon sign and blue running dog once again by the end of the year.
