River CIty Bicycle Classic Returns

Hundreds of bike riders will converge on Garvin Park for the 3rd Annual River City Bicycle Classic.

Evansville city officials are hoping for nice weather this weekend for the 3rd Annual River City Bicycle Classic at Garvin Park.

Hundreds of bike riders will be in town to compete for cash and other prizes on 6/6, and 6/7.

The kick-off party is Friday night.

It starts with a ride from the library on W Franklin to Garvin Park, then back.

There will be food vendors, an outdoor movie and even a beer stube for the adults.

On Saturday, there's a kids race at 12:30.

But most of the real action will be watching the 8 high-speed races for the experts.

The riders can go up to 30-miles an hour.

They say Garvin Park's flat track is perfect to let them go so fast.

The races are free to watch

Registration fees and the other money made goes to the Boys and Girls Club.
