This year marks an important landmark for one Tri-State fixture. The Romain family business is celebrating 50 years.

The occasion was marked with a toast in the Romain Cross Pointe Hospitality tent at the United Leasing Championship at Victoria National.

The family has owned Romain Buick and United Leasing company for a half century, providing the sponsorship dollars for the Web.Com Tour event in Warrick County.

"I'm not sure that 50 years ago when my father started this business there was anything in his thought process about where the company might go," said Ron Romain, "and what it might look like all those years later. And I can't think of a better way to kind of reflect what, probably was in the back of his mind, or dreaming about what the company could perhaps become to have an event like this that's supported so well by this community."

Day two of tournament play at Victoria National is Friday. Sung Kang leads the field after day one with a score of -6 par.
