The Wildcats looking to play the winner of Bosse vs. Gibson Southern. Bulldog pitcher Trent Morris pulled his best Houdini, getting himself out of jams multiple times in the early innings. But the bats of Gibson Southern were too much in the end. Titans win game two 5-0.
It was slow going in the early innings in the 3A sectional title game. Gibson Southern would eventually out-duel Mount Vernon 5-1, thanks to Olney Central bound Dillon Whitton's performance on the mound.
The North Huskies would move past Reitz in game one at historic Bosse Field. The Huskies used some clutch hitting from senior Ryan Gulledge and sneaky good defense from Chase Whitler. North would hold on to beat the Panthers 4-0. Game two featured the Castle Knights and the Harrison Warriors. The Knights had to have some help from timely hitting to beat the Warriors 6-3. The 4A title game was all about Addison Smith. The junior threw a complete game no-hitter to blank the Huskies 2-0.
Mater Dei got past last year's state title winners South Spencer Saturday. Jacob Fleming, USI bound, recorded the game winning RBI in the seventh to put the Wildcats up for good 3-2.
The Castle Lady Knights utilized their staunch defense and good pitching to get past the Reitz Lady Panthers in the class 4A sectional title game. A first inning home run put the Knights up early, and they never looked back, tacking on two more runs en route to a 4-0 sectional title victory.
