Skate Park Honors Dedicated Teen

Travis Aubrey Skate Park opened in Owensboro Saturday. The park was named for the teen who pushed to have it built.
Folks came out to the grand opening of the Travis Aubrey Skate Park.

18-year-old Aubrey pushed for the skate park to be built, but on September 28th, 2012, on his way home from a city commission meeting - where funding for the skate park was approved - Aubrey was hit by a pick-up truck and died.

He may not have gotten to see the skate park built, but friends and family say he will always be remembered for his dedication to the project.

After the ribbon cutting, a moment of silence was held in honor of Aubrey, followed by 45 minutes of free skating for everyone at the event.
