The first large statue in Kentucky honoring veterans of the War of 1812 was unveiled in Greenville Saturday.

Lt. Ephraim M. Brank is remembered for his marksmanship in the Battle of New Orleans.

Donations from residents and businesses helped fund the almost $100,000 statue. Greenville City administrator Ben Van Hooser said the statue is one for all veterans. He said they are still accepting donations because they hope to put a museum-quality sign near the statue that would have a display of the battlefield.
