Deaconess Hospital joined with the Evansville Otters to 'Strike Out Strokes.'

The stroke awareness campaign kicked off with more than 500 patients who are stroke survivors.

On this Father's Day, organizers say it was important to meet with folks at one of the community's most historic landmarks.

Deaconess officials are teaching the community to act FAST when they encouter symtoms of a stroke, which include: a drooping face, inability to raise both arms, and slurred or strange speech.

They also recommend getting the victim to the hospital within an hour.
