Study Says Indiana Needs to Develop a Water Supply Plan

Indiana's Chamber of Commerce has been studying the growing demand for water in the Hoosier state and says it's important to develop a water supply plan.
Indiana is the most water-dependent state in the country when it comes to its impact on the economy. That word today from members of Indiana's Chamber of Commerce who have been studying the growing demand for water in the state agriculture and manufacturing industry.

The chamber says its important to develop a supply plan and do more research before the demand grows even more.

"We are in good shape right now, but the study that we commissioned through the Indiana Chamber of Commerce Foundation and the findings that assess, not only our water resources today, but makes projections of water resource needs and supply in the future, outline that we have some challenges," said Kevin Brinegar of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber says that could mean everything from improving conservation efforts to building water systems and new pipelines.
