Suspect Arrested in Paoli Shooting

A suspect in the Paoli shooting has been arrested in Crawford County and will be charged with murder according to Indiana State Police.

ISP investigators arrested 48 year-old Elbert Brooks of New Albany at about 10 p.m. He is facing murder charges for involvement in the shooting of Nicholas Fields, Cory Michael Harris, and Daniel Smitson on May 23.

Investigators were led to an apartment complex at 285 South Main Street in Marengo, where Brooks was arrested.

Investigators believe there is a third suspect involved. State Police are actively looking for 36 year-old James Davidson of Marengo, for his involvement in the shooting. 

Davidson was last seen in the Marengo area Wednesday evening. 

Investigators continue searching for John Carpenter, who is wanted for murder for involvement in the shooting.

Davidson and Carpenter are considered armed and dangerous, and the ISP asks not to approach them.

Anyone with information on Davidson or Carpenter's location is asked to call ISP at 812-482-1441 or 911.
