An Evansville man who prompted a four-hour police standoff last year is sentenced today, and it doesn't include prison time.
An Evansville man who prompted a four-hour police standoff last year is sentenced today, and it doesn't include prison time.

John Cannon is sentenced to eight years electronic home detention and about seven months probation.

The standoff started when he beat his ex-girlfriend with a baseball bat and held her and her baby against their will. Police also found an AR 15 rifle with multiple rounds of ammunition in the home.

Cannon will start his sentence on Friday.
