The sale started Saturday and continued today from 12:00 to 3:00. Books weren't the only thing on the tables; gently used DVD's and CD's were on sale as well.
This sale happens every year to free up space for the library's eight locations in and around Evansville.
"It's a great community event when you can spread around $35,000 worth of books and DVD's to the community at large - so it works both ways. It's good for the people who come to the library and take books home to keep instead of having them for a short period of time," said Eric Weier, president of the Public Library Friends Board.
Weier also says all the proceeds from this weekend's book sale will go towards programs at the library.
