Tina Stein

Evening Anchor
Tina Stein joined Eyewitness News in September 2013. She comes from Rockford, Illinois where she spent seven years at WIFR-TV, most recently as Evening News Anchor. During her time in Rockford, Tina was named Best News Anchor by the Illinois Broadcasters Association and won eleven Associated Press awards for her reporting, including Best News Reporter and Best Investigation. One of her investigations uncovered sex offenders were working as election judges in schools. Her report prompted the Winnebago County Clerk to require background checks on all election judges.

Tina is a graduate of the University of Iowa. There she helped launch the first student-run television station. She also served as President of Gamma Phi Beta sorority and the student chapter of RTNDA. While in college, Tina held internships at WGN in Chicago, Tribune Broadcasting in Washington, WMTV in Madison, KCRG in Cedar Rapids and WIFR in Rockford.

She, her husband Steve and daughter Claire are thrilled to call the Tri-State home. Tina is a strong supporter of advocacy and investigative journalism. Please contact her with any story ideas at tstein@tristatehomepage.com or on her Facebook page.
