A traffic alert for the intersection of Boonville New Harmony and HWY-41. The main entrance to the Vanderburgh County 4H Fair is just across the railroad tracks on Boonville New Harmony. When a train is crossing, traffic can back up to HWY-41.
VCSO is asking drivers to use caution when traveling in this area for the week; and if possible, choose another route.
They also want to warn drivers to make sure they can pass through the intersection before entering it. This will keep the intersection clear and help prevent an accident.
In Gibson County
Work along HWY-41 in starts Monday. It's part of a 15.6 million dollar road resurfacing project. Crews will begin work on rehabilitation of the bridges over Lutz creek, that's just south of the intersection of SR-68, and thurman ditch. Work is expected to last through August 19th.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close the northbound ramp from KY-416 to the Pennyrile Parkway in Henderson Tuesday. It will affect traffic from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This is part of ongoing construction to allow widening of the ramp to meet interstate standards. We're told there will not be a marked detour. Drivers can travel north on US-41 to KY-425 and the Henderson bypass to access the northbound lanes of the Pennyrile Parkway.
Also in Henderson, work along the Pennyrile Parkway around the Elam Ditch bridge starts up on Monday. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in the area. Traffic should be back to normal by Wednesday.
Staying in Henderson, work along Alcan Aluminum Road from Quinns Landing to the KY-416 intersection will start Monday. Crews will be working on base repairs along this three mile stretch. Work is expected to take a few days to complete.
Part of Breckenridge Street in the downtown area will be closed to update a rail crossing. The closure will be in the northbound lane, just north of the 9th Street intersection. There will be a marked detour. Construction is exected to wrap up Wednesday.
