The first day of his high-profile trial in Evansville wraps up with some fireworks this afternoon.
A man outside the courtroom was arrested for disorderly conduct. Officials say he was told to put away his cell phone and asked to leave. He then allegedly made threats to the court.
It took just half a day to select a jury in Beumer's trial. Three women and nine men were seated.
Both sides presented opening statements. Beumer was robbed at gunpoint at his home. When the suspects drove away from the scene, he allegedly chased them.
One man died when their vehicle crashed. Beumer's trial could last all week.
