Indiana State Police are investigating the death of a baby. IPS says an 11-month-old was buckled into a car seat at a babysitter's in Loogootee Wednesday but needed changing.

The babysitter unfastened the lower buckle and left the baby as she went to get a diaper. She says less than two minutes later, she discovered the infant slid down the seat and became strangled by the upper portion of the seat harness.

The babysitter and first responders tried to perform CPR. The child was eventually pronounced dead. An autopsy is scheduled for today.

We haven't heard if the babysitter faces charges. No names are being released.
