Two firefighters suffered heat-related injuries while battling a blaze in Warrick County Sunday morning. The fire happened at home in the 2000 block of Long Road in Boonville.

One Boonville firefighter is still in the hospital. We’re told he is being kept overnight and may have suffered a heat-related heart attack. A second firefighter had blood pressure issues. He was treated on scene and released.

Boonville Assistant Fire Chief Steven Byers said they called in Yankeetown and Ohio Township fire departments so firefighters could work in shifts.

The Red Cross was also on scene to assist firefighters.

The fire is still under investigation. Everyone made it out of home safely except for one dog.
