Two Injured in Scooter Accident

Two are injured in a scooter accident on Washington Avenue.
We've learned the child in the wreck is seven years-old, not nine as we previously reported.

Police say she's Breasha Wilson and was riding on the back of a scooter driven by 60 year-old James Windham.

Authorities tell us they were struck by a car, after blowing through a stop sign and neither were wearing helmets.

Windham is listed in fair condition. St. Mary's won't reveal how the child is doing.

The driver of the car is okay.
PREVIOUS REPORT:

Evansville Police are on the scene of a scooter accident in the area.
Two people have reportedly been taken to the hospital.

The driver of scooter was a male adult, the passenger was a 7 year-old girl.
Both suffered head injuries, possible internal injuries.

Neither the driver nor his passenger were wearing helmets, according to EPD.

A car careened into a nearby yard trying to avoid scooter. The driver had been taken for standard drug and alcohol tests, but none suspected.

We have a crew on the scene, and  will bring you more information as it becomes available.
