Two Tennessee fugitives were arrested Saturday night at the Economy Inn on North First Avenue in Evansville.

Jacob Hammond, 22, and Amber Lehman, 29, were wanted by authorities after an incident last week where Hammond allegedly fired multiple shots at a Montgomery County sheriff’s investigator while fleeing from a meth lab.

In a statement, ISP said coordination with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. Marshal’s led to the arrests. Officials said two loaded handguns were found on Hammond and meth-making materials were found in the car.

A third man, Jonathan Buckner, was also arrested. Officials said they are still investigating his relationship with the Lehman and Hammond. He is charged with conspiracy to manufacture meth.

Hammond is charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to manufacture meth. Lehman is being held on a probation violation.

All three are at the Vanderburgh County Jail and are being held without bond. Officials said they expect Lehman and Hammond to eventually be handed over to Tennessee authorities.
