Two Victims Robbed in Owensboro Shopping Area

OPD is asking for public's help locating armed robbery suspect.
Police in Owensboro are looking for the man who robbed two people in a parking lot on Frederica Street Friday.
The first incident happened around 1:00 a.m., the second later that evening just after 7 p.m.
Both cases involved a man wearing a dark-colored jacket who approached the victims as they went to their vehicles in the parking lot of Wesleyan Park Plaza. Each victim told police they were threatened with a weapon when the suspect demanded money.
Neither victim was hurt, but officers want to remind everyone to take a few extra steps to stay safe.
Officials say make sure you know your surroundings, and if you are approached by a stranger in a threatening manner, make a loud noise or honk your car horn to draw attention to yourself.

Anyone with information on the pair of robberies is asked to call police at 270-687-8888 or leave an anonymous tip with the Crime Stoppers. That number is 270-687-8484.
