USI Baseball Wins in Final Frame

The Screaming Eagles come from behind on Senior Day.
Head coach Tracy Archuleta has his team back on top in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The USI Screaming Eagles locked up the top spot in the GLVC East with Sunday's win over visiting St. Joseph's. The game was briefly delayed in the bottom of the sixth due to rain and lightning, but USI managed to sneak two runs across before the tarps were pulled to cover the dirt infield.
The Eagles have won 21 of its last 22 games, including 14 straight.  Sophomore Kyle Kempf, once again, led USI's offensive attack.  Kempf went 3-5 from the plate with an RBI and two runs scored, including the game winner on a sacrifice fly to right from senior Brent Weinzapfel to push the Screaming Eagles ahead 5-4.
USI plays Evansville Tuesday night at Braun Stadium, before heading to UIndy to finish out the regular season Friday and Saturday.
