USI Students Team Up to Start Businesses

USI students are working together to create their own businesses.

16 students are participating in the "Technology Commercialization Academy".
It's where they develop business models based on military patents.

Teams with the best pitches advance in the academy for another five weeks. Students are encouraged to get their creations licensed and reach out to potential customers and investors.

USI Student Jordan Whitledge says, "This has been a valuable experience that i know everybody has come out of this program learning more and understanding more and are ready to go forward with a lot of ideas. So, its been a very great experience."

This is the academy's third year. It wraps up in mid-July.
