Using Robots to Get Kids Interested in Math and Science

A robotics competition at Ivy Tech is aimed at getting young people interested in STEM.
Ivy Tech hosts the Alcoa Foundation Robotics Competition today.

It's focused on getting young people involved in science, technology, engineering and math training - or STEM.
A large part of the effort is directed towards young people who may not normally be attracted to these fields.
37 teams from surrounding counties competed.
Each team had to make their robots finish tasks to earn points.

The top five teams will receive gift cards, and the first place team will also receive a trophy.
