Vote on Funding for New IU Med School Slated for Monday

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education is expected to vote on 2-million in state funding for the new IU Med Center Campus.
Monday, the Indiana Commission for Higher Education will vote on $2-million in state funding for the planned IU  Med Center Campus in downtown Evansville.

The group was slated to discuss the matter earlier this month, but they didn'thave enough members present to take action.

An approval of the state funds would push the project forward.

Last month, the IU board of trustees selected the downtown Evansville site for the campus.

Construction could begin this year and is set to be complete in 2017.

The $2-million in funding will go toward planning costs.
