War Monuments Expected to Move to Riverfront in August

War monuments scattered around downtown Evansville will be moved to the riverfront within the next 30 days.
War monuments scattered around downtown Evansville will be moved to the riverfront within the next 30 days. That's according to Vanderburgh County Comissioner Stephen Melcher.

The county commission voted last year to relocate monuments at the old courthouse and post office to the riverfront.

However, there have been several delays including Shrinersfest and a request from the mayor's office to provide a layout that is disability friendly.

Melcher says the monuments should be moved by early August.
