Woman Gets in Car Accident with Unrestrained Infant in Front Seat

An intoxicated woman is in a car accident, and authorities find an unrestrained infant in the front seat.

An intoxicated woman gets in a car accident with an unrestrained infant in the front seat.

The accident happened in Evansville around 2:00 Saturday morning at the intersection of HWY-41 and Covert Avenue.

Evansville police tell us Athena Smith first drove away from the accident, but later stopped.

Officers gave smith a breathalyzer test and say she registered twice the legal limit.

Smith was arrested and charged with child neglect, hit-and-run and DUI.
