The work to stabilize a series of streets in downtown Boonville is expected to start Monday. Parts of East Main St. from Walnut to Oakdale Terrace have started to sink into the ground.
City leaders have been working with the Department of Natural Resources to formulate a plan to fix the streets. Officials say there are old underground mines that have started to collapse over the last few years.
The contract was awarded to Jerry Aigner Construction. The work will likely take all Summer.
