One young community leader is speaking out after shootings on Evansville’s south side put three people in the hospital this weekend.

One young community leader is speaking out after shootings on Evansville’s south side put three people in the hospital this weekend. 

Alex Burton, a community activist who has worked with the organization Young and Established, said change will only happen when the community comes together to say ‘enough is enough.’

Young and Established organized this year’s Dust Bowl. The basketball tournament was absent for four years after violence shut it down. Burton said the enthusiasm for the Dust Bowl needs to extend to everyday life on the city’s south side.
