Kentucky State Police say a deer is to blame for a Christmas night single vehicle accident that sent two to the hospital.

Troopers says Larry Mahaffey and his wife, Deborah, were driving south on I-69 just after 5:30p.m. near Saint Charles in Hopkins County.  Troopers say Mahaffey attempted to avoid a deer in the roadway and the vehicle overturned in the median, crossed the northbound lanes and came to a stop on the shoulder of the road.

The Mahaffeys were transported to Baptist Health in Madisonville, where they were treated and released.
