The Dubois County Sheriff said a man involved in a several hour standoff is in custody. Sheriff Donald Lampert said state police and local agencies did not have any correspondence with the man during the standoff. He said the agencies rammed doors and windows prior to entering the home.
Lampert said the incident began this morning in Haysville. He said a female was outside a home with a gun and a male was inside with a gun. Lampert said gunfire was exchanged. The female was with law enforcement when the standoff occurred.
The sheriff said officers heard a single gun shot after they arrived.
