Three Evansville men are accused of stealing several bundles of copper wiring from a construction company near Allens Lane and Kratzville Rd. Tuesday night, someone spotted the men dragging what appeared to be sleds full of wiring across the road and called police.

32-year-old Jeromy Nelson, 50-year-old Scott Wilson, and 54-year-old Jose Kempf were arrested on burglary and theft charges. Investigators say they traced the tracks in the snow back to where the wiring was originally stored.

Deputies say Kempf was so intoxicated at the time, he could barely sit up in the back of the patrol car. He was taken to the hospital to checked out before getting booked into jail.
