James and Lindsay Herring and their two kids got the keys to their new Habitat for Humanity home this afternoon.
The family built the home with help from the Evansville Catholic Diocese, they didn't know if they could ever own a home until they learned about Habitat.
"Getting this behind us," said Herring. "It's been a very long process, but a lot of learning experience to me. I don't have a lot of skills, so I've learned a lot as this process comes out."
They still have a lot to do, their 5-year-old son, Cody, starts at a new school Monday.
