Fire officials accepted a check today for $2,300. They say the money will be used to buy a back-up communication system for its dive team, which can be crucial during water rescue situations.

"It can be the Ohio River," said District Chief Ken Zuber. "It can be Pigeon Creek, a tributary of the river, a lake, a variety of things these guys face themselves in hostile environments."

EFD's dive team is made up of firefighters from different stations who are all trained as dive rescue specialists.
