The call came in shortly after noon Monday. According to authorities, an Animal Control officer who was in the area said shots were fired during an argument between a man and a woman. The officer says the man then went into a house, however, Evansville Police say that's not the case. They tell Eyewitness News the man, identified by officers as Ronnie Fenwick, is believed to be in the area of Walnut and Kentucky. The woman, we're told, is unharmed and is with officers.
Fenwick, we're told, is 29-years-old and is currently on parole for robbery.
Nearby Cedar Hall Elementary School was placed on lockdown due to it's proximity to the scene.
A police negotiator, along with EPD Chief Billy Bolin and Vanderburgh County Prosecutor Nick Hermann are all at the scene monitoring the situation. We have a crew there as well and will bring you the very latest information as it becomes available.
